Fayetteville man faces drug trafficking charges after large find

There are serious consequences when someone in Durham is convicted of a crime involving drugs. If a person is convicted of felony drug charges involving the trafficking and selling of drugs, for example, there is usually a lengthy prison term for that person to serve. Therefore, it may be a good idea for them to seek out the advice of a felonies defense legal professional before they agree to any kind of offered plea deal or attempt to go to trial.

Multiple charges have been filed against a 24-year-old man in Greenville after his rental car was found to contain illegal drugs. There was no information where the drugs were located in the car, but a search of it revealed 450 bags of heroin. Information provided only stated that the rental car aroused suspicion but it is unknown how law enforcement came to the belief that there was something in the vehicle.

The charges against the man include maintaining a vehicle for the sale of drugs, two counts of trafficking, and possession with intent to distribute and sell. It was not stated whether the man has a prior history involving drugs.

The drug offenses that this man is facing are serious ones. But at the same time, it is important to make sure that the evidence was obtained legally. If law enforcement had no reason to search the vehicle, the man may be able to argue that his civil rights were violated. This is when having a legal counsel can be a benefit because they will evaluate the evidence and make sure that the law was followed. Anyone facing drug charges should consider meeting with an attorney.
